Overture to Opera 11:00 – 12:00 p.m.

With live musical examples we'll see where opera came from and how it turned into the art form it is today. A professional singer will be on hand to sing a few famous arias from the world’s great operatic masterpieces. We’ll also show some video clips from opera performances. K-12

Storytelling 1:00 -2:00 p.m.

Music is often used to tell a story. To that end, we bring the music but need your help to create the story. Through this process students gain a greater understanding of how to create and tell a story. The presentation will end with a retelling of the story they create, set to music.
