Prior to working at the Space Foundation Bradbury spent many years working as a counselor, and a division director at a summer camp in northern Minnesota. There, he organized daily activities, and designed/guided many canoe trips to the Boundary Waters. Working with many ages at a summer camp led Slade to become a classroom teacher. He has spent a total of six years educating students K-5. His last two years were spent teaching Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, and Writing in the 5th grade. Believing in project/inquiry based learning, Bradbury built his own science curriculum to meet the state standards. Slade earned his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Western State Colorado University.
