Ruth Butler is responsible for an extensive range of Space Foundation educational programs, including creating and teaching curriculum that supports science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) for Discover the Universe field trip programs, Space in the Community and Space Across the Curriculum.

Butler spent seven years teaching math, science, language arts and social studies to sixth grade students. Most recently, she taught grade levels kindergarten to sixth for two years. She integrated technology and innovative activities to meet state standards throughout all  subject areas for all grade levels. Butler earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Baylor University and a master's degree in educational technology from City University.
